Largest Seizures of the Year

In 2015 as the result of organized crime and gang enforcement initiatives, ALERT seized more than $30 million worth of drugs.

Below is a list of some of the largest seizures of 2015, ordered by estimated street value of drugs seized:

  • February 4, 2015 – Calgary: $5 Million
    • 40 kilograms of cocaine; 11,597 fentanyl pills; 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine; 545 grams of heroin; 182 grams of MDMA; 450 grams of marihuana; 60 kilograms of a cocaine buffing agent; $600,000 cash proceeds of crime.
  • October 29, 2015 – Stettler: $4 Million
    • 3,284 marihuana plants.
  • February 12, 2015 – Olds: $2.5 Million
    • 2,137 marihuna plants; $40,000 cash proceeds of crime
  • June 3, 2015 – Fort McMurray: $1 Million
    • 7.2 kilograms of cocaine; 2,908 fentanyl pills; 26.3 kilograms of marihuana; 198 grams of psilocybin; $23,150 cash proceeds of crime
  • April 16, 2015- Edmonton: $850,000
    • 7 kilograms of cocaine; 11.4 kilograms of cocaine buffing agent; 567 grams of MDMA; 10 kilograms of marihuana; $6,365 cash proceeds of crime.
  • September 15, 2015 – Edmonton: $585,000
    • 1.47 kilograms of cocaine; 2.15 kilograms of crack; 655 grams of methamphetamine; 98 grams of heroin; 1.65 kilograms of hashish; 213 grams of marihuana; 46 grams of psilocybin; 24.8 kilograms of a cocaine buffing agent; $55,710 cash proceeds of crime.
  • March 25, 2015 – Edmonton – $545,000
    • 2.6 kilograms of cocaine; 1,841 fentanyl pills; 1 kilogram of methamphetamine; 468 grams of MDA; $91,000 cash proceeds of crime
  • March 25, 2015 – Calgary: $408,000
    • 2.5 kilograms of cocaine; 875 grams of methamphetamine; 27 grams of heroin; 263 fentanyl pills; 49 grams of cannabis resin; 135 grams of cocaine buffing agent; $3,935 cash proceeds of crime.
