Medicine Hat wraps up cocaine trafficking investigation, three charged

Medicine Hat…ALERT’s Medicine Hat Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), an integrated team of Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) and RCMP members, charged three people as a result of a short-term cocaine trafficking investigation.

On May 24, CFSEU-Medicine Hat, with assistance from the MHPS and Brooks RCMP, executed a search warrant on a northwest Medicine Hat residence where they seized 42 grams of crack cocaine and $2,700 cash.

As a result, two Medicine Hat residents are charged:

  • Christina Louise WELLS, age 44, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
  • John Gordon GALLAGHER, age 33, is charged is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Then on May 25, police arrested a man in Brooks where he was found allegedly transporting 107 grams of crack cocaine.

Wayne NIBLOW, a 36-year-old Irricana resident, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

In total, the team seized 149 grams of crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $15,000.

WELLS and GALLAGHER will make their next court appearances in Medicine Hat on May 28. NIBLOW will appear in court on June 5 in Brooks.
